I was blindsided by the Trials of Mana remake released in early 2020. The original game, Seiken Densetsu 3, never saw a release out of Japan until then. As a Flammie-sized fan of the original Secret of Mana and its soundtrack, I immediately was drawn to the music from the remake as well as the original SNES game that I missed out on.

This is just a tribute.

Even though it's one of my favorite Zelda tracks, I never thought I'd hear a remix of Great Bay Temple, being the quirky industrial piece that it is. Yet here we are, with an EDM cover by The Icarus Kid that surpasses the original. The album has something for everyone, but I specially love the darker second half. From Astral Observatory onwards it's a trip through Termina that doesn't let up in terms of dread and dance-inducing beats. Even the last two "calmer" tracks are among the best. Naop
